purpose + possibilities.
Audacity...
Seems like I've been on a journey to find some. π«ΆπΎ
But not the kind that's rooted in ego.
More like the kind that lets you trust your own knowing after a tough season has shaken your confidence down to the studs.
I've spent the last couple of years pivoting. Out of one identity, into another. Out of certainty, into a lot of I don't know yet.
And I realized that my confidence had been shaky for longer than I knew. π
But lately, something has been rising β and that something is my audacity, honey! ππΎ
I'm learning to trust the moves I keep making.
...which for me, has always been to find purpose and alignment, and to plant myself in community.
That's exactly why I HAD to share Taurea Avant's story this week.
Taurea built a $400K career in network marketing and walked away from it. She wrote a book the people around her literally told her not to write. She turned that one move into a visibility empire that's helped 11,000 authors put their work in the world.
The single decision she made before walking away from network marketing β that became the foundation for everything after
Why "follow the thread, even when you can't name it yet" is such valuable career advice from her journey
How she handles people who try to set ceilings on what she's allowed to build β and what she did each time
The exact moment she realized her "side project" was actually the main thing
If you've been in a season where your confidence has waned more than you'd like to admit, this story is a reminder that your signature move is still in there.
(And it's usually the thing that pulls you through.)
If this article makes you want to hear Taurea tell her story in her own voice, her full Popcorn Posse episode is worth your commute, walk, or your dishes-in-the-sink hour. It goes deeper into the Vegas hotel room, her years inside network marketing, and what it actually felt like to start over.
This month's CreativeMornings theme was #Ember. π₯
An ember is what's left when the fire looks like it's gone out, but it's still holding heat. Still capable of starting something new the moment the conditions are right.
That's exactly how I feel about every professional I've every documented...and about me, too.
About all the times I've needed to remember that one ending β completely over.
Because for many us, we aren't dimming. We're just between flames.
"People don't remember you for the clothes you wore, the cars you drove, or the jewelry you own. They remember you for the impact that you had on their life."
P.S.Between this article and what's already on the site, The Purpose Post is home to nearly 70 stories about purpose, plus close to 70 archived pieces from The Working Dancer, links to features I've written for global publications, podcast episodes, and more β all of it for movers like you, who are reinventing themselves, drawing on everything they've ever done to build something in service of someone else (even if that someone else is just a younger version of themselves). Thanks for being here. Keep reading and sharing, and keep choosing the path that's all yours. π¦
