purpose + possibilities.
I just had a lovely coffee date with a former client who's become one of my ATL gal pals. π«ΆπΎ
When we first worked together a couple years ago, she was stuck in the way most folks are when they come to me.
She was SO ready for a professional change, but she couldn't see what, or how, or whether she even had the right to want something different.
And this week, she sat across from me glowing. β¨
Not because everything is figured out.
But because she's heading to graduate school in the Fall, and she's excited to keep figuring it out.
That's the part that got me. ππΎ
That shift from dread to curiosity. From paralysis to motion. That's the whole point of it all, right?
We talked about how terrifying it is to bet on yourself when the world, and sometimes the people closest to you, are signaling that starting over isn't okay.
That you should have it together by now. That pivoting is a luxury you can't afford.

And honoring that isn't quitting. It's wisdom.
Your turn: What's one thing you've been waiting for a sign to start or stop?
purpose + our people.
This is me and a few Upward Bound scholars after a panel last week at RICE. π
I came prepared to talk about careers and entrepreneurship, but they just wanted to talk about dance. Then we made a TikTok video.

I guess that's what it means to give the community what it needs. π
P.S.My former client didn't wake up one day with all the answers. She just got to a place where she trusted herself enough to keep moving without them. That's the goal. Not certainty...momentum. Consider this your reminder. β¨
